Algiz is one of the most famous runes that you have probably seen many times without even realising. It is a main part of the Vegvisir, a symbol the vikings would wear on their forehead to keep them safe going into battle. The imagery here is of elk antlers. The elk was a symbol of power and strength, but its antlers were believed to possess protective properties. You can also see in the symbol, the look of a child reaching up to its mother.
